While dealing with personal issues within his family, SPU frontman and spokesperson Siege turned to listening to and creating HNW music to help his own mental health on an even keel. These solo sessions were done at home in the same spontaneous manner as the first SPU album, but this time around, all of the sounds are generated solely by Siege.
The album's title is a nod to the Sun Ra album "Cosmic Tones For Mental Therapy".

This album has been repackaged with new cover art and remastered in 2023 to reflect the official shelving of the “SPU” concept.
